We are Engineers, and we proudly honor Sir Mokshagundam Visvesvaraya, an esteemed Indian engineer, scholar, statesman, and Diwan of Mysore from 1912 to 1918. He was awarded India’s highest honor, the Bharat Ratna, in 1955. Internationally, he was recognized by King George with the title KCIE (Knight Commander of the British Indian Empire) for his unwavering dedication and contribution to public service.
In India, Engineer’s Day is celebrated on 15th September, marking Sir Visvesvaraya’s birthday, in tribute to his monumental contributions to engineering both in India and abroad. As a chief engineer, he was involved in numerous significant projects, leaving a lasting impact on the field.
