Aligning any rotating machinery, what are the pre-alignment checks to be done?

Before proceeding with pre-alignment, below checks need to be done.
– First thing to check the machine is properly secured to foundation.
– Check for any excessive run-out conditions i.e. Eccentric coupling bore, Bent Shaft etc.
– Machine to base plate interface problems i.e. soft foot.
– Ensure that no piping loads are coming on the machine, with proper stress analysis and to avoid nozzle loads.
